Community Policing Committee Announcement

As a member of the Town’s Community Policing Committee, I would like welcome and introduce our new Chairperson, JAMES BERTRAM

James has extensive experience in law enforcement and public safety, having served on the Peel Regional Police Force for 28 years, 9 years as Deputy Chief of Police. During his years on the Peel Police Force, James was engaged in addressing community issues and building business partnerships. During the years 1997 to 2009, Jim served first as Director of Public Safety with the Greater Toronto Airport Authority, then as Executive Advisor to the Board of Directors, Risk Management. From 2009 until 2013 or retirement, James worked as a consultant focusing on client needs for sensible, effective and efficient solutions in security management.

The Committee believes that James is the right person to lead, guide and direct the activities of a dynamic team of committed volunteers whose goal is to continue to strive for safer and more secure Community.

The Award winning Blue Mountains Community Policing Committee (CPC) is a volunteer organization that operates in partnership with the Blue Mountains OPP detachment and the Community. This influential and active group is dedicated to helping develop and encourage proactive policing activities and programs throughout the Community including the Community and Neighborhood Watch program (web site). The Committee encourages citizen as well as community and commercial organizations’ participation in the identification and resolution of policing issues while liaising with and annually reporting to the Town’s Police Services Board.
